RAILWAY-TRANSPORTATION COMPLEX, Taraz, Karatau, Zhanatas. 

“Kazphosphate” LLC branch “ZhTK” is rendering services of rail freightage and intraplant operations to the company branches and other enterprises in the industrial area of Taraz, Karatau and Zhanatas.

The total extension of tracks is 128,1 km in industrial area of Taraz and 166 km of track miles in industrial area of Zhanatas-Karatau.

The complex includes 30 locomotives of TEM and TGM types. Generally wagon fleet consists of 931 units, including:

• 382 railway cisterns for yellow phosphorus transportation;
• 44 rail cisterns for phosphoric acid transportation;
• 331 railway tank cars for phosphate rock and 174 other tank cars.

The enterprise was founded due to intensive development of Karatau-Zhambyl territorial production complex brought to considerable increase of phosphate rock, yellow phosphorus, mineral fertilizers and other freights of chemical enterprises transportation.

The question of production processes automation was solved by enterprise - the switches and signals were electrically centralized. The park loudspeaker and shunting radio communications were built up and put into operation by forces of employees, which are successfully used nowadays. Introduction of electrical signalization afforded to considerably increase the operation factors of enterprise.

At present three stations: Zavodskaya, Khimprom, Phosphornaya are under the jurisdiction of enterprise with way out to the tracks for general use. The stations are adjoining to spur tracks by four stations of RGP “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy”– stations Assa and Chaikuruk in Taraz, stations Karatau and Zhanatas in Zhanatas industrial area.

All stations are equipped with electric centralization of switchers and signals, equipped with loud-speaking communication.

Today ZhTK branch of “Kazphosphate” LLC is a modern transportation organization where the majority of labour-intensive processes is mechanized and automated, with high-capacity potential of technical equipment and stable efficient working collective.
