The company is working and developing in three main directions:

 
1. Exploration works, mining and processing of phosphate rock, production of phosphate fines, phosphate powder and other associated products (silica, dolomite, marble breccias). Sales of phosphate powder, phosphate fines, dolomite, marble. 
   
   
2. Production and sales of yellow phosphorus and its derivatives. 
   
   
3. Production and sales of phosphate fertilizers and fodder phosphates.

GPK “Karatau” and GPK “Chulaktau” branches are mining and processing complexes for extraction and processing of phosphate rock, the probable reserves of which are more than 13 bln. tons. The deposits are located in Zhambyl and partially in Shymkent oblasts in the south of Kazakhstan. These reserves are mainly concentrated in 6 biggest deposits of the basin and make 1/3 of explored phosphate rock reserves on CIS territory and about 5% of explored world reserves.

The branches include 6 deposits of open-cast and underground mining of phosphate rock, 5 grinding-sorting and processing factories for initial treatment and final output (phosphate powder, lumpy phosphorite, phosphate fines, phosphate-siliceous raw material). Mining and production of rock with low As content was settled.

Rock is treated at processing factories with high capacity and modern equipment as KKD-1200/180, KSD-2200, KMD-2200 crushers, GIL-52 screens, Czech dry milling mills 4,4 x 15 meters in size.

These facilities provide with production of:

• phosphate powder for extraction;
• phosphate fines for electrothermics;
• associated production of dolomites, limestone, silica, marble breccias, marble aggregate.

The abovementioned products are exported as well as sold to the Kazakhstan market.

“Mineral Fertilizers”, Taraz

"Mineral Fertilizers" branch is a chemical plant producing mineral fertilizers, fodder fluorine-free phosphates for agriculture.

The total area of the plant is 449,2 hectares and includes the following main production of:

• phosphate-nitrogen fertilizers - ammophos (mix of di- and monoammoniumphosphate) 46% Р₂О₅, 10% N;
• simple superphosphate 19% Р₂О₅;
• fodder tricalciumphosphate 27% Р₂О₅ and fodder tricalciumphosphate 37% Р₂О₅.  

The main part of output is sold to the local market. The state Program of subsidizing the fertilizers to the local farmers is working several years. Apart from this the fertilizers are exported to China, Ukraine, Byelorussia and Tajikistan. The big work on developing the phosphate fertilizers markets of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Czechia, Bulgaria, Iran is in process.

Novodzhambul Phosphorus Plant, Taraz.

NDFZ branch is a chemical plant, producing P4 and phosphorus containing products, located 15 km to north-west from Taraz along northern slopes of Ulken-Burul mountain of Malyi Karatau mountain ridge. The total area of the plant is 644,75 hectares.

The enterprise includes the following main units of:

• agglomerate production - three AKM-312 agllomachines;
• P4 production - 1 block of four RKZ-80F-I1 type furnaces each of 80 MW capacity;
• thermal phosphoric acid production – two technological lines;
• STPP production - four technological lines;
• phosphate salts production (potassium tripolyphosphate, sodium-potassium tripolyphosphate, trisodiumphosphate) - two technological lines.
• food grade STPP and food grade phosphoric acid.

For the first time in the world practice the technology of yellow phosphorus production from agglomerated phosphate fines has been implemented at the plant. The branch developed the production of low hydrated STPP. At P4 production the molten products like slag and ferrophosphorus generate in the furnace. The production of 4 grades of ferrophosphorus is organized at the plant, which is widely used in domestic metallurgy and exported to other countries.

P4 and its compounds are widely used in different industries of national economy: in matches industry, in metallurgy - for alloying of cast iron and steel, in  chemical industry - for impregnation of fabrics, plastics, timber - for fire resistance, for production of drilling liquids, tooth paste, different food and pharmaceutical  preparations. The phosphorus compounds are widely used in production of phosphor organic compounds (thiophos, carbophos).

P4 produced at NDFZ branch is awarded with prestigious international prizes for its high quality:

• «Golden Arch» - Association of industrialists and businessmen of Spain;
• «Brilliant Star» - Mexico.

Yellow phosphorus is supplied to the highly competitive markets of Eastern and Western Europe and also to Russia. In the STPP market the company is one of the leading suppliers for all main producers of detergents in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Iran and Kazakhstan.
